We offer a very warm welcome to everyone who wants to join us at our services or at other events. We hold services every Sunday at 10 a.m. They last for about 45 minutes and are followed by coffee and tea. Children of all ages are welcome and we normally run a Sunday School (which we call Adventurers) during the service, in our Annex.
The first record of any church at Newlands was exactly 700 years ago in 1317 when John Graham, the Duke of Dalkeith gave the church to the monks at Dunfermline Abbey. Since then there have been a number of significant events, including the subsequent building of the old church which then burnt down in a fire in 1795. The current church was completed in 1838 and then refurbished in 2004. Read the full history here >>
We have a competition at Newlands Primary School to design a special anniversary card. We are getting a new commemorative bench outside the church and will be holding a Harvest Festival Flower Show at the end of September.
The next sessions of Messy Church is on:
Sunday 10 December – Nativity and Christmas
Sunday 4 February
Sunday 4 March
They are from 4-6pm in the New Church Hall at West Linton.
All children from babies to P7 are most welcome to come and join in the fun! After a game to start the children will do a range of craft activities, then have a song and a story and finish off with a meal together. All children MUST be accompanied by an adult.
